The elementary school is hosting monthly parent workshops presented by the Family Life Educators from the JBSA Resiliency Center. The Fort Sam Houston Independent School District is soliciting for nominees to be considered for 2 openings on the Board of Trustees. The positions must be filled by either a military member or civilian living on or employed by Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.To qualify for the board, a volunteer must be:

• 18 years of age or older
• U.S. citizen
• Qualified voter

Trustees will take an official oath of office and serve without compensation. Interested applicants must submit a resume no later than 5:00 p.m., February 28, 2018 to the School Liaison Officer at 2484 Stanley Road, Building 2263 Room 107B, Basement.

Fort Sam Houston ISD is hosting a parent resource fair for the families of FSHISD. Representatives from our district and organizations in our community will be on hand to answer any questions you may about services available. Notice of Public Meeting to discuss Ft. Sam Houston ISD's State Financial Accountability Rating.

Fort Sam Houston Independent School District will hold a public meeting on October 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Professional Development Center at 1908 Winans Road, San Antonio, Texas. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District’s rating of “A” for “Superior Achievement” on the state’s financial accountability system.

SAMMC Immunization clinic will be holding a Flu shot fair on Tuesday, October 17th from 9 am to noon in the Cole nurse's office. All students that are dependents of active duty and retired military are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Parents need to fill out the Flu form (available by clicking the headline above) and return it to the School Nurse. Please call the Cole clinic at 210-368-8746 for questions.

The FSHISD Board of Trustees voted to change the last day of school for students from Friday, May 25, 2018 to Thursday, May 24, 2018 to best meet the needs of our families. On May 24, Fort Sam Houston Elementary students will be dismissed at 12 noon and Robert G. Middle and High School students will be released at 12:30 p.m. Graduation ceremonies will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Trinity University’s Laurie Auditorium on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Ft. Sam Houston ISD will begin school on Monday, August 28 following regular schedules, to include bus service. Although the roads are safe to drive on, there is still scattered rainfall in the forecast. Parents and staff are asked to be safe and allow extra time to navigate traffic on roads. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to those most impacted by the storm.

Students interested in applying to attend Fort Sam Houston schools as a NRT for the 2017-2018 school year may apply beginning May 16, 2017.

Fort Sam Houston Independent School District will hold a public meeting at 10:00 am on July 27, 2017 in the Professional Development Center located at 1908 Winans Road, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the school district’s budget.

Public participation in the discussion is invited. Immediately following the public hearing, the Board of Trustees will hold a public meeting that will include in the agenda an action item to adopt the 2017-2018 budget. See our Business and Finance Department page for more details.
