About Me
"My Background"
After serving within the United States Armed Forces, my family and I settled in San Antonio, TX in 1999. I received an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology at St. Philip's College and then earned a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
"My Why"
One of FSHISD's Core Belief's is "We exist to serve the military child!" Not only do I have a profound appreciation for our Armed Forces, I am an educator at heart, so being a part of the Military School Districts' Cooperative (COOP) educational support team, gives me the opportunity to cultivate, empower, and actively contribute to the wellbeing of our Military Community.
"My Role"
The COOP serves our Fort Sam Houston, Lackland, and Randolph Field Military School Districts'. As a pediatric occupational therapist, I have the duty to collaborate with educational staff, caregivers, and medical specialists, to develop evidence-based interventions that are useful, support the integration of equipment and strategies into students’ academic routines, and create real-time teacher/therapist opportunities to address problems as they arise, so students can have access to and can participate in "functional, student-centered" learning.
