About Me

Hi, I’m Priscilla, a wife, mom, and special educator with a passion for social-emotional learning, equitable behavior practices, and trauma-informed practices.

This will be my first year in FSHISD as a Behavior Specialist.

I've been in education for over 14 years. I have taught special education in grades 1st - 8th. I began my career in Killeen TX as a middle school life skills teacher working with a variety of students including many students with low incidence disabilities including but not limited to Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, OHI, Multiple Disabilities, and Emotional Disabilities. I then moved to Ft Belvoir, Virginia for 2 years. There I was a middle school inclusion teacher working with a variety of students including many students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). For the past 8 years, I have worked at SAISD. From 2013-2019, I was an elementary self-contained teacher and a middle school inclusion teacher. During my last three years, I was at the district level as a consulting teacher. As a consulting teacher, I provided coaching and feedback to support the growth and development of first-year special education teachers. I also worked as a Program Specialist for middle school's special education behavioral programs/classrooms.

I have my undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland University College in Psychology. I received my teaching certification through Tarleton State University. My Master’s degree is from the University of Texas at SA in Special Education; Behavior Coach Endorsement Program through Region 13 Education Service Center.
